Claudia Monteiro de Aguiar promotes affordable sightseeing
MEP Madeira PSD promotes Portuguese startup, HereWeGo in Brussels.
Neither rain nor cold prevented the participation in this journey of about 30 minutes, held between Place de la Monnais and the Grande Place, led by the local host Miguel Gerez. During the tour, Michael, Journalist and Advisor on Accessibility in “Bruxelles Pour Tous” (Brussels for All), shared tourist information and highlighted the existing accessibility, the struggles and achievements for better access and their importance not only for tourists but also for locals.
For Claudia Monteiro de Aguiar “the participation of local associations and the VisitBrussels organization, show interest in these awareness-raising initiatives. The reality of an accessible tourism and for all is still a long way, but I believe these actions can make a difference. This route also allowed “to raise awareness through training, showing participants the physical barriers that still exist in many European cities, preventing many European citizens from the mere fact of traveling.”
Taking advantage of the presence in Brussels the HereWeGo mentors had the opportunity to promote the project in a series of meetings organized by MEP Claudia Monteiro de Aguiar. Meetings were held with the European Commission, Office of Tourism of Portugal in Brussels and the Representation of Catalonia. These meetings allowed the identification of partners and the possibility of participation in European projects.
Claudia Monteiro de Aguiar thus assumes the will to help young entrepreneurs and the Portuguese startup in the process of promotion and internationalization.
